Research Funding Opportunities

Emory National Primate Research Center
Pilot Research Program 2024 – PDF download

Timeline:

  • Proposals should be submitted as a single pdf file to Denise Wardlow, assistant to Dr. Johnson, via e-mail (dwardlo@emory.edu) by 2 pm PST, Friday, March 1, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted!
  • Projects will be reviewed by the EPC’s National Scientific Advisory Board and outside experts (as needed) and funds will be awarded with an effective start date of May 1, 2024.
  • The period of award is for one year, from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025. No-cost extensions with carryover funding are not possible due to the funding process of the P51 parent award.  When developing the proposed research plan, applicants should thus be cognizant of possible delays, such as the time required to obtain IACUC protocol approval, the time required for animal identification, quarantine, and final assignment, etc.
  • Additional information:
    • For questions related to animal resourcesplease contact the Associate Director for Animal Resources at the EPC, Dr. Joyce Cohen (joyce.cohen@emory.edu).
    • For general questions about the pilot grant process, please contact Dr. Paul Johnson (rpaul.johnson@emory.edu).

Planning Grants Request for Applications

Washington Research Foundation (WRF) is launching a call for applications to fund planning grants that will enable teams of investigators from Washington state research institutions to develop and submit a proposal for a large-scale initiative that strengthens the life science innovation ecosystem in Washington state.

The planning grants may be used to craft a final proposal for submission to either WRF or to other agencies that support life-science innovation, such as ARPA-H, the NSF-TIPS program or other foundations. Learn more.

Royalty Research Fund (RRF)

The Royalty Research Fund (RRF) is a competitive awards program that provides research support to University of Washington faculty. The RRF is funded by royalty and licensing fee income generated by the University’s technology transfer program. The RRF has been offered twice a year since 1992. In 1994, the RRF Scholar Program was initiated to provide one-quarter of release time for faculty with full teaching loads to engage in concentrated scholarly activities. The RRF welcomes proposals with budgets up to $40,000. Approximately $1M is awarded per round. The success rate for applicants averages 25%. Learn more.
